BRACELET WITH SAPPHIRES AND DIAMONDS – CENTRAL KNOT MOTIF – ITALIAN JEWELRY 1950s A magnificent vintage bracelet from Italian jewelry of the 1950s, characterized by an important central motif where marquise-cut Natural Sapphires and Diamonds are integrated into an elaborate design, rich in movement and volume. The central motif develops through overlapping and intertwined curvilinear elements, some entirely covered in Diamonds, forming a fluid and three-dimensional pattern particularly representative of Italian jewelry from the period. At the top, marquise-cut Natural Sapphires are gathered, with a total carat weight of approximately 2.00 ct., arranged in a radial pattern and interspersed with round brilliant-cut Diamonds. The intense blue of the Sapphires creates a sharp contrast with the brilliance of the Diamonds, while the different inclination of the stones follows the curvilinear design of the central part. Round brilliant-cut Natural Diamonds, with a total carat weight of approximately 5.50 ct., are present both in the central motif and along the two side sections of the bracelet. Particularly interesting is the craftsmanship of the bracelet's two rows, where two different setting techniques are distinguished: one row features Diamonds individually set in prongs, while the other is formed by geometric rectangular settings, each adorned with Diamonds. In the central motif, however, the Diamonds follow the curved lines of the intertwined elements, with very rich craftsmanship that also continues along the large arched element located at the bottom. The central part connects to the side sections, maintaining continuity in the design and gemstone placement, with craftsmanship that makes the transition between the ornamental motif and the bracelet particularly rich. The variety of settings, the significant quantity of Diamonds, and the arrangement of the Sapphires make this piece of jewelry a refined testament to high Italian jewelry of the 1950s, where metalwork plays a role as fundamental as that of the gemstones.
