PLATINUM RING WITH EMERALD AND DIAMONDS – AMERICAN MANUFACTURE 1970s
Ring manufactured in America in the 1970s, made of Platinum and featuring a Natural Emerald with an octagonal Emerald cut, surrounded by an intricate arrangement of Diamonds of various cuts.
The central gemstone, estimated to weigh approximately 0.51 ct, is octagonal with an Emerald cut and has a deep green hue, well-defined and homogeneous.
Surrounding the Emerald are natural Diamonds totaling approximately 1.22 ct, utilizing baguette, tapered, and round brilliant cuts.
The baguette and tapered Diamonds are set in different orientations, with the larger stones positioned towards the outside and the smaller ones closer to the Emerald.
Interspersed among the straight-cut stones are natural round brilliant-cut Diamonds, which break the geometric succession and introduce a different type of light reflection.
The arrangement of the gemstones requires careful crafting of each setting, especially for the baguette and tapered Diamonds, which must be correctly sized and positioned to maintain the continuity of the design.
The upper part of the ring therefore presents a densely diamond-studded structure, where the contrast between the green of the Emerald and the white of the Diamonds forms the main aesthetic element of the jewel.
Particularly interesting is the craftsmanship visible beneath the setting, where the Platinum is pierced with ornamental motifs of floral design, executed even in areas not immediately visible when worn.
The openwork beneath the back of the central gemstone demonstrates the meticulous attention paid to the setting's craftsmanship.
The Platinum band is solid and appropriately sized for the upper structure, with carefully executed connections between the band and the setting.
The quality of the execution is particularly evident in the crafting of the gem settings and the precision of the metal connections, elements that attest to a high level of manufacturing skill.
The combination of Emerald, baguette, tapered, and round brilliant Diamonds identifies a type of American high jewelry where the geometry of the stones is used to develop a complex and highly luminous structure.
